Cessna 650 Citation III

Cessna 650 Citation III

Anyone familiar with the private jet industry knows about Cessna’s line of Citation business jets: economic, high-performing, comfortable private jets that consistently stand out in the market. The Citation III is one private jet that strikes the perfect balance between cost, performance, and comfort.

The Citation III was Cessna’s first mid-size, long range model in the Citation family. It was newly signed apart from the smaller Citation I and II, and comfortably carries six to eight passengers in its roomy stand-up cabin. In high density arrangement, the Citation III can hold eight or nine passengers. Its longer fuselage—compared to the Citation I and II—has extra leg room for increased comfort. There is 61 cubic feet of baggage space available. The Citation III was designed afresh, having few parts in common with the other early Citations. Long range flight at high speeds required a supercritical, swept wing, a t-tail, and Garrett TFE731-3B turbofans.

In short, Cessna set out to build a private jet that would meet the needs of private jet business travelers in range and speed while keeping costs low and performance high. The resulting Citation III is a low-priced business jet that delivers comfortable travel accommodations, economic operating costs, and good speed and range.
